Osaka Walking Tour

Osaka is Japan’s second-largest city after Tokyo. It is filled with things to do and places to see, from eating delicious food to visiting the trendiest shopping and sightseeing areas. Osaka is best known for its amazing casual food and outgoing locals. It’s arguably Japan’s street food capital, and most famous for snacks including takoyaki and okonomiyaki. Osaka is also renowned for its fun, extroverted people who make eating and drinking in the city and unforgettable experience.

During the Tour we will visit

- Hozenji Temple, a small Buddhist temple located just off Dotonbori. Built in 1637 and is dedicated to Fudo Myoo, one of the five wisdom kings in Buddhism. Located in Hozenji Yokocho, a narrow alleyway that has preserved the atmosphere of old Japan with its traditional lanterns and cobblestone paths.

- Amemura, a retail and entertainment area is also known as “Amerikamura” or “American Village” and is usually referred to by locals as “Ame-mura”. The area is known for its youth culture and style and has been evolving since the early 1970s to stay ahead of the trends.

- Dotonbori, one of the main tourist destinations in Osaka. It is located along the Dōtonbori canal. The area is known for its nightlife and is filled with an explosion of neon lights, mouth-watering street food, retro vibes, stores, and bars. The area is also home to the famous Glico Man sign which is a popular photo spot for tourists and locals alike

 - Kuromon Ichiba Market, a popular covered market in Osaka, Japan. It is also known as the “Gastronome” or “Osaka’s Kitchen” and has been around for over 200 years. The market is known for its fresh seafood, meat, and produce

 - Osaka Castle, castle built by Toyotomi Hideyoshi in 1583 and the largest of its kind at the time. The castle is one of Japan’s most famous landmarks and is known for its impressive architecture and beautiful gardens. Venture to the top and see Osaka’s sprawl from the tranquillity of 15 acres of serene parkland.

- Shinsekai, a district in Osaka that was developed before WW2 with Tsutenkaku Tower, the nostalgia-evoking symbol of Shinsekai. This area is an iconic and popular district of Osaka, its retro vibe and nostalgic neon attracting people from far and wide.

- Den-Den Town, Osaka’s answer to Tokyo’s Akihabara. It’s the city’s electronics, camera, computer, pop culture, games, and anime shopping neighbourhood.

- Shinsaibashi-suji, a covered shopping street which has been Osaka’s most important shopping area for 400 years With hundreds of shops lining this 600-metre long street, walk down here to experience Japan’s love of consumer retail.
